Minecraft Bedrock · v0.1.9
Storm Chasing
You are in Colorado, and there is a tornado out there somewhere. Get in the truck and go and find it.
The idea
Vanilla Minecraft weather happens to you. This turns it into something you go looking for. You get a storm-chasing vehicle to ride, a radar to read the storm once you are near it, and weather maps to track where it is heading.
There is no way to lose. Nothing can attack the vehicles and the twister cannot hurt you — the point is to get close enough to watch it properly, not to survive it.
Chasing a storm
- Deploy your storm-chasing vehicle and get in.
- Watch the weather maps to work out where the storm is going.
- Drive out towards it — across open Colorado country.
- Once you are close, switch the radar on to read the storm.
- When the tornado alarm sounds, follow the twister.
The alarm is not just for you. When it goes off, every villager heads down into their basement and stays there until it has passed.
The tornado
The twister is a real entity, not a particle effect — it moves with dense, fast motion and tears up blocks in a damage corridor as it travels, so you can see exactly where it has been afterwards. The radar draws the storm and your own position as a live map-style grid while you follow it.
What it ships as
A behavior pack, a resource pack and a sample world laid out for chasing, all built for Minecraft Bedrock 1.26.3 or newer. It is deliberately a casual, educational build rather than a challenge — there is no scoring and nothing to fail.
There is also an admin command set behind the scenes
(!storm start, !storm radar on,
!storm vehicle deploy and friends) for starting and
stopping storms on demand while testing.
